- Graduate · Postgraduate For both categories, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or in Information Technology, or a Master's degree in Computer Application, from a recognised University or an equivalent qualification. System Analyst additionally requires five years' working experience in programming/software development and computer hardware and networking in a public-sector undertaking, government, statutory body or a company registered under the Companies Act; System Manager requires ten years' experience in programming and software package customisation with special knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and RDBMS such as Oracle and SQL Server. Eligible System Analysts (Programming) may apply for the System Manager post.
- Age
- As on 1 January 2025, not less than 26 and not more than 40 years for System Analyst (Hardware and Networking), and not less than 31 and not more than 45 years for System Manager. The upper limit is relaxable for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes (Group A and Group B), physically handicapped and ex-servicemen candidates under the extant Government rules, with OBC relaxation treated as per the notifications of the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal. Relaxations and cut-off dates are category-specific.
- Application fee
- System Analyst — ₹700 for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates of West Bengal and ₹1,500 for all other candidates. System Manager — ₹1,000 and ₹2,000 respectively. The fee is payable only by Indian Postal Order purchased after the advertisement was published, drawn in favour of the Registrar General, High Court, Calcutta and payable at G.P.O. Kolkata; it is not refundable and no other mode is accepted. Use the official payment instructions only.

- System Analyst (Hardware and Networking) — ₹56,100–1,44,300 at Level-16 of the pay matrix. System Manager — ₹67,300–1,73,200 at Level-17. Both carry the allowances admissible under the relevant rules of this High Court. Gross and in-hand pay vary by posting and allowance.

Basic eligibility paths
- Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens for two separate panels; appointments are made initially on a purely temporary basis but are likely to be made permanent.
- Notification No. 7609-RG lists desirable qualifications separately — Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification for System Analyst, and for System Manager a 60 per cent or 6.5 CGPA record throughout, five years in system administration on Windows and/or Linux with network management, and Cisco CCNA plus Red Hat or equivalent certification.
- A candidate selected to either post is appointed as a probationer for two years.
- No travelling allowance is paid at any stage, and no candidate is admitted to the examination centre without the original admit card.
- Confirm the certificate formats, reservation and category rules in the official notification and its follow-up notices.
