- 12th · ITI / Diploma · Graduate · Postgraduate Post-wise: a degree of a recognised university for Searcher; a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Fisheries Science or a post-graduate diploma in fisheries, failing which a Master's in Marine Science, Zoology or Marine Biology, for Assistant Superintendent of Fisheries; a science degree with physics or a diploma in engineering with three years' experience for Inspector Legal Metrology; and the specific requirements printed against each of the other posts. Every post additionally requires knowledge of Konkani, with Marathi desirable.

- Post-wise in the advertisement, commonly not exceeding 45 years for the Level 6 posts such as Searcher, Assistant Superintendent of Fisheries and Inspector Legal Metrology, relaxable by up to five years for government servants; relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PwD. Relaxations and cut-off dates are category-specific.
- Application fee
- For posts in pay levels 1 to 3 — ₹200 for unreserved, ₹100 for OBC and EWS and ₹50 for SC, ST and PwD applicants. For posts in pay level 4 and above — ₹400, ₹200 and ₹100 respectively. Payment is online only. Use the official payment instructions only.

- Applicants need a 15-year Goa residence certificate issued by the competent authority in Goa and registration with the Employment Exchange, Goa.
