- Each ITBP advertisement fixes its own post-wise education, age, physical standard, trade and medical conditions; the ITBP recruitment portal publishes the detailed advertisement and every corrigendum.
- ITBP also advertises Group 'A' and Group 'B' posts on deputation, absorption and re-employment terms, which are open only to serving government officers — these are listed on the ITBP website rather than the open recruitment portal.
