Basic eligibility paths

• ✓Online applications are invited only from domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir; a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format is required, and certificates issued after the last date for submission of the online application form are not entertained (clause 6).
• ✓Recruitment is made in terms of the J&K Education (Gazetted) College Service Recruitment Rules, 2026 notified vide SO-125 of 2026 dated 29 April 2026, and the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (Business and Procedure) Rules, 2021 as amended.
• ✓The last date for receipt of online applications is the cut-off date for determining eligibility as regards acquisition of educational or professional qualification and any certificate on the basis of which reservation is claimed, notwithstanding any extension of the last date.
• ✓A candidate seeking consideration under a reserved category must hold a valid requisite category certificate on the cut-off date and upload it with the online application; no further opportunity to upload documents is given afterwards (clause 5).
• ✓Mandatory uploads are the date-of-birth certificate (Secondary School/Matric certificate), the J&K Domicile Certificate, the graduation degree, the PG degree and a NET/SET/SLET/PhD document (clause 8).
• ✓Applicants must update their One Time Registration before filling the application form, and must produce a downloaded copy of the online application form with original certificates at document verification.

Relaxations & certificates

• SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and ex-servicemen relaxations follow the applicable notification.
• Always check the certificate format and cut-off date in the official notice.

Syllabus snapshot

• Notification 05-PSC (DR-P) of 2026 does not publish a syllabus; selection is against the prescribed academic and professional qualification and the weightage items listed in clause 8.
• Weightage documents named in the notification are the M.Phil certificate with result notification, the Ph.D notification, a JRF/NET/SET/SLET certificate, experience certificates, a list of books published as 1st/2nd author, a gold medal certificate for overall first position in the prescribed qualification, national/state/institution award certificates, a list of research papers as I/II or corresponding author, and a post-doctorate certificate of minimum 1 year.
