Basic eligibility paths

  • Differently abled candidates and female candidates are not eligible for this post.
  • The post, its age limit and its qualifications are prescribed under G.O.(P) No.89/2014/Home dated 06.05.2014, G.O.(P) No.266/2010/Home dated 09.12.2010 and G.O.(P) No.337/2012/Home dated 28.12.2012.
  • Candidates must qualify in any five of the eight events of the National Physical Efficiency One Star Standard Test — 100 m in 14 seconds, high jump 132.20 cm, long jump 457.20 cm, shot put (7,264 g) 609.60 cm, cricket-ball throw 6,096 cm, rope climbing (hands only) 365.80 cm, 8 pull-ups, and 1,500 m in 5 minutes 44 seconds.
  • Probation is two years on duty within a continuous period of three years, and the Kerala Jail Subordinate Officers test must be passed within that period.
  • NCC cadets holding 'A', 'B' and 'C' certificates receive weightage marks of 2%, 3% and 5% respectively under G.O.(Ms) No.112/2007/H.Edn dated 21.08.2007.
