Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) February 2026

Basic eligibility paths

• ✓Category I is for Lower Primary classes, Category II for Upper Primary classes, Category III for High School classes, and Category IV for language teachers (Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu up to UP classes), specialist teachers (Art & Craft) and physical education teachers.
• ✓Apply under the category whose qualification table on the K-TET site you satisfy; the categories are separate tests and require separate applications.
• ✓The test exists to meet the teacher-quality requirement the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 places on the State.

Relaxations & certificates

• SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and ex-servicemen relaxations follow the applicable notification.
• Always check the certificate format and cut-off date in the official notice.

Syllabus snapshot

• Pareeksha Bhavan publishes a separate syllabus PDF for each of Categories I, II, III and IV on the K-TET site; use only those files.
• Each K-TET paper carries 150 questions, and the February 2026 notification sets the general qualifying mark at 60% (90 of 150) with lower percentages for SC/ST/OBC/OEC and differently abled candidates — read the notification's qualifying-marks clause for the exact figures.
