- 12th · Graduate · Postgraduate Post-specific under Notification 01/2025: PRT requires Senior Secondary (10+2) with 50% marks plus a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (or 4-year B.El.Ed) and CTET Paper-I; TGT requires a 4-year integrated degree or a Bachelor's degree plus B.Ed. in the concerned subject; PGT requires a Master's degree (or integrated PG course) with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject plus a B.Ed. - Minimum 18 years; upper age limit varies by post under Notification 01/2025 — e.g. not exceeding 30 years for PRT/PRT-Music/Special Educator (PRT), not exceeding 35 years for most TGT posts, not exceeding 40 years for PGT posts, and 35–50 years for Principal. Relaxations and cut-off dates are category-specific.
- Application fee
- Examination fee of Rs. 2,300 (Assistant Commissioner/Principal/Vice-Principal), Rs. 1,500 (PGT and equivalent Group-B gazetted posts) or Rs. 1,200 (TGT, Librarian, PRT), plus a Rs. 500 processing fee for all posts, as per the fee table in Notification 01/2025. Use the official payment instructions only.

- 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-6 (PRT, Rs. 35,400–112,400) up to Level-12 (Principal/Assistant Commissioner, Rs. 78,800–209,200), depending on the post. Gross and in-hand pay vary by posting and allowance.

Basic eligibility paths
- Indian citizen meeting the post-specific education, subject and CTET/B.Ed. requirements set out in Notification 01/2025.
- Age as on the closing date of application, with relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD/ex-servicemen/women and departmental KVS/NVS employees as detailed in the notification.
Relaxations & certificates
- SC/ST: 5 years; OBC-NCL: 3 years age relaxation.
- Women candidates applying for PGT, TGT, Librarian and PRT posts: 10 years age relaxation.
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 10 to 15 years age relaxation depending on category, with an additional 5 years for KVS employees.
- Ex-servicemen and existing KVS/NVS regular employees receive post-specific relaxation as detailed in Notification 01/2025.
Selection process & syllabus

Selection stages
- 1Tier-I: OMR-based preliminary qualifying examination (General Reasoning, Numeric Ability, Basic Computer Literacy, General Knowledge, Language Competency).
- 2Tier-II: main computer-based/OMR examination, post- and subject-specific.
- 3Interview (Assistant Commissioner, Principal, Vice-Principal, PGT, TGT, Librarian, PRT) or Skill Test (Stenographer, Junior Secretariat Assistant), weighted 85% Tier-II + 15% interview where an interview applies.
- 4Document verification against the online application.
