Who can apply?

A readable first check—not a legal eligibility decision.

Basic eligibility paths

  • LIC classifies applicants into three categories — LIC Employees, LIC Agents and Others (open market) — and its last cycle capped them at 15%, 25% and 60% of vacancies respectively.
  • Open-market candidates need a Bachelor's degree from a recognised Indian university or the Fellowship of the Insurance Institute of India; LIC agent and employee candidates additionally need qualifying service and business records.
  • The spouse of an LIC agent is not eligible for recruitment as an Apprentice Development Officer.
  • The role is a marketing job with considerable travel across the allotted area; confirm every condition in the official current-cycle notice.

Relaxations & certificates

  • SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and ex-servicemen relaxations follow the applicable notification.
  • Always check the certificate format and cut-off date in the official notice.
If your degree title, age, domicile or category certificate is unusual, mark yourself “check required” and read the official wording.
