- Age
- The MTET 2026 Information Booklet prescribes no age limit; eligibility is set by qualification alone. Relaxations and cut-off dates are category-specific.
- Application fee
- Rs 600 for one paper and Rs 900 for both in the general category; Rs 500 and Rs 800 for SC/ST/OBC/PwD, with a Rs 300 late fee for applications submitted after 15 May 2026. Use the official payment instructions only.
- Pay
- Not applicable - MTET awards a lifetime-valid eligibility certificate rather than a post. Gross and in-hand pay vary by posting and allowance.

Basic eligibility paths
- Hold the NCTE minimum qualification for the stage applied for; a 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks applies to SC, ST, OBC and differently abled candidates.
- MTET applies to Government, Deficit and Government-aided schools in Mizoram; unaided private schools may opt to consider CTET instead.
- Applicants whose forms were rejected for incomplete or incorrect documents had to submit soft copies by 7 Aug 2026 under the 27 Jul 2026 notice.
Relaxations & certificates
- SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and ex-servicemen relaxations follow the applicable notification.
- Always check the certificate format and cut-off date in the official notice.

Selection stages
- 1Paper I (primary stage) and/or Paper II (middle stage), each of 150 one-mark MCQs over two and a half hours with no negative marking
- 2A score of 55% or more qualifies, and qualified candidates are issued an eligibility certificate valid for life
