- The eligibility-test rulebook records that a candidate must be at least 21 years old as on 1 January of the selection test's advertisement year, with the maximum age fixed by the General Administration Department rules in force at that time (PSTET 2024 rulebook, chapter 1, clause 7); the exact band for the next cycle will be restated in its own rulebook. Relaxations and cut-off dates are category-specific.
