Basic eligibility paths
- Clerical recruitment is done State/UT-wise: a candidate may apply for one State/UT only and must take the examination at a centre in that State/UT.
- Graduation in any discipline is required, along with English as a subject at SSC, HSC, Intermediate or graduation level (REF NO CORP.HRM/ASST/2024).
- Candidates not found proficient in the Regional Language Test are disqualified regardless of examination marks.
- Confirm education, age, nationality, domicile and category rules in the official current-cycle notice.
Relaxations & certificates
- SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and ex-servicemen relaxations follow the applicable notification.

Syllabus snapshot
- The previous cycle's Tier I carried 100 marks in 60 minutes — English Language 30, Reasoning 35 and Numerical Ability 35, each separately timed.
- Tier II carried 250 marks over 120 minutes — English Language, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, Computer Knowledge and General Awareness, 50 marks each.
- A quarter of the marks is deducted for each wrong answer in both tiers, and the Regional Language Test carries no marks.
- Use only the official current-cycle syllabus when it is published.
