Basic eligibility paths
- Only applications successfully filed through the Puducherry online recruitment portal are accepted; candidature is provisional at every stage.
- A candidate who applies for more than one post covered by the common examination is later asked to state a preference, and that option is final.
- Applicants who had already applied for post codes 001/2025 to 006/2025 under the earlier notification need not apply again, but may update their category and contact details as announced on the portal.

Syllabus snapshot
- The scheme of examination and syllabus are in Annexure-I of Advertisement No.01/CGL/PEA/2025; the Controller of Examinations may revise the syllabus, number of questions, papers, marks, time and weightage before the examination and will notify any change on the portal.
- Negative marking is 0.25 for every wrong answer, and multiple answers count as wrong.
- Weightage: for post codes 001-006 and 008, Paper-I carries 25% and Paper-II B 75%; for post code 007 (Upper Division Clerk), Paper-I and Paper-II A carry equal weightage.
- Minimum qualifying marks in each paper: 30% for UR, 25% for OBC/MBC/EBC/BCM/BT/EWS and 20% for SC/ST/PwBD/XSM.
