The next cycle will fix its own crucial date. Relaxations and cut-off dates are category-specific.

- Processing fee ₹590 including 18% GST for UR and OBC candidates and ₹295 including GST for SC and PwD candidates in the cancelled Rectt. Advt. No. 01/2020, with the fee excluding GST refunded to SC candidates who attended the online test; the next cycle's fee is not published yet. Use the official payment instructions only.

- Rectt. Advt. No. 01/2020 offered basic pay ₹20,600 in the then pre-revised scale ₹20,600–3%–46,500 during the one-year training and the ₹24,900–3%–50,500 scale after it, plus DA, perks and allowances, PF, gratuity, leave encashment, housing and free medical facility. RINL has published no pay scale for a current Management Trainee cycle. Gross and in-hand pay vary by posting and allowance.

Who can apply?

Basic eligibility paths
- RINL's recruitment archive records cancellation notices dated 13 Dec 2022 for both Rectt. Advt. No. 01/2020 (MT Technical) and Rectt. Advt. No. 02/2020 (MT HR/Marketing/Corporate Communications), so neither cycle's terms carries forward.
- In the cancelled 01/2020 cycle only Indian nationals could apply, and only through the online form on vizagsteel.com; the registration window ran 24 Jan to 13 Feb 2020.
- Where a degree awards CGPA/OGPA/DGPA, the university's conversion norm applied; failing that, 6.75 on a 10-point scale was treated as 60% and 5.75 as 50%.
- Selected candidates in that cycle were liable to be posted anywhere in RINL, including its captive mines and marketing branch offices, and final selection was subject to RINL's own medical rules.
- Confirm the discipline list, marks threshold, age and category rules from the next Management Trainee advertisement itself before applying.
Relaxations & certificates
- SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and ex-servicemen relaxations follow the applicable notification.
- Always check the certificate format and cut-off date in the official notice.
If your degree title, age, domicile or category certificate is unusual, mark yourself “check required” and read the official wording.

Selection process & syllabus

Selection stages
- 1Online test and personal interview, as run in the cancelled Rectt. Advt. No. 01/2020
- 2That online test had an Aptitude segment (General Awareness, Numerical Ability/Aptitude, General English, Data Interpretation, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning) and a separate discipline paper, each of 100 one-mark questions with no negative marking
- 3Qualifying marks in that cycle were 50% in each segment separately, and 40% for SC, OBC and PwD candidates
- 4Personal interview for candidates shortlisted on online-test performance, followed by RINL's medical examination
Syllabus snapshot
- Rectt. Advt. No. 01/2020 set the Aptitude segment on General Awareness, Numerical Ability/Aptitude, General English, Data Interpretation and Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, with a separate technical paper in the applied engineering discipline.
