Degree in Engineering with 65% marks (average of all semesters) in Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical or Metallurgy — 55% for SC/ST/PwBD and departmental candidates. A 3-year MCA is accepted for the Computer discipline. The degree must be a regular full-time course from a UGC/AICTE-recognised institution.

Upper age 28 years as on 5 Dec 2025 (not born earlier than 5 Dec 1997), relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC-NCL and 10/15/13 years for PwBD in the General/SC-ST/OBC-NCL categories; departmental candidates up to 45 years.

Basic pay ₹50,000 in the ₹50,000–1,60,000 scale during the one-year training; designated Assistant Manager in E1 grade on the ₹60,000–1,80,000 scale after training, with an approximate CTC of ₹16–17 lakh a year at the E1 minimum.

Who can apply?

Basic eligibility paths

  • Medical standards in the advertisement require minimum weight 45 kg and height 155 cm, myopia/hypermetropia within ±4.00 in each eye and no squint or colour blindness, with relaxation in height and weight for women.
  • Only orthopaedically disabled candidates (OA/OL/OAL) with 40% or more disability and candidates with dwarfism may apply under PwBD.
  • OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must be in the Central Government format and issued on or after 1 Apr 2025.
  • Selected candidates may be posted to any plant, unit or mine and cannot seek a transfer for the first four years of service.

Selection process & syllabus

Stage by stage, without mixing recruitment years.

Selection stages

  1. 1Online computer-based test of 200 marks — Domain Knowledge (100 marks, 40 minutes) and Aptitude (100 marks, 80 minutes)
  2. 2Qualifying at 50 percentile for UR/EWS and 40 percentile for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD in each part separately
  3. 3Shortlisting for GD and interview in a 1:3 ratio, discipline and category wise
  4. 4Group discussion and interview, with a final merit weightage of 75:10:15 for CBT, GD and interview
  5. 5Biometric verification and the company's medical examination

Syllabus snapshot

  • Domain Knowledge Test in the applied engineering discipline (100 marks).
  • Aptitude Test of four segments — Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, Reasoning and General Awareness — of 25 marks each.
