- The bulletin sets no age limit; the certificate stays valid until the candidate crosses the employability age under State Government norms. Relaxations and cut-off dates are category-specific.

- Rs 500, payable online and non-refundable, per Information Bulletin 75/Exam/Edn./2026. Use the official payment instructions only.
- Pay
- Not applicable - STET is an eligibility test for in-service regular teachers, not a recruitment to a post. Gross and in-hand pay vary by posting and allowance.

Basic eligibility paths
- Open only to in-service regular teachers in Sikkim, who may appear at one level only - Primary or Graduate.
- Only teacher-education diplomas and degrees recognised by NCTE count; Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.Ed (Special Education) must be recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India.
- Candidates choose Gangtok, Namchi or Gyalshing district as their examination centre.
Relaxations & certificates
- SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and ex-servicemen relaxations follow the applicable notification.
- Always check the certificate format and cut-off date in the official notice.

Selection stages
- 1One objective paper of 150 compulsory MCQs with no negative marking - Paper I for Primary Teachers and Paper II for Graduate Teachers
- 2A score of 60% or more is a pass, with 5% relaxation for SC/ST and Central/State OBC candidates
- 3Successful candidates receive the certificate in person on producing the original admit card
