In the most recent Beat Forest Officer notification, Category 431/2025-434/2025: a pass in the Plus Two examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Government of Kerala, or an equivalent examination recognised by the Government of India or the Government of Kerala. Male candidates additionally needed a minimum height of 168 cm and a minimum chest of 81 cm with 5 cm expansion, and had to qualify in five of the eight events of the National Physical Efficiency One Star Standard Test (100 m in 14 seconds, high jump 132.2 cm, long jump 457.2 cm, shot put with a 7,264 g shot 609.6 cm, cricket-ball throw 6,096 cm, rope climbing with hands only 365.80 cm, 8 pull-ups, and 1,500 m in 5 minutes 44 seconds), plus an endurance test. The current cycle's qualification is not published yet.
