Basic eligibility paths
- Qualifying NCET is a mandatory requirement for admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) at the participating central and state universities and institutions, including IITs, NITs, RIEs and government colleges (official NCET portal).
- Passed the Class 12 board examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognised Board or Council, per the NCET 2026 programme-wise eligibility list.
- The programme applied for determines the stage taught (Secondary or Middle) and the degree awarded — B.A. B.Ed., B.Sc. B.Ed. or B.Com. B.Ed. — as listed institution by institution in the official eligibility document.
- Final admission, counselling and any additional institutional condition are handled by the participating university or institution, not by NTA.

- SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and ex-servicemen relaxations follow the applicable notification.
