Basic eligibility paths
- Open only to serving Group C employees of the Central Secretariat Clerical Service cadre of DoPT with Grade Pay ₹1,800.
- At least three years' regular service as such a Group C employee as on the crucial date of 1 Aug 2025.
- Class 12 pass from a recognised board or equivalent.
- Must have passed, if not already passed, one of SSC's periodical typewriting tests at 30 words per minute in English or 25 in Hindi on a manual typewriter, or 35 in English or 30 in Hindi on a computer.
- Under the addendum dated 13 Jul 2026, DoPT granted a one-year relaxation in regular qualifying service to Multi-Tasking Staff up to Select List Year 2020.
- Employees on deputation to ex-cadre posts with the competent authority's approval, or holding a lien in the Group C post, remain eligible if otherwise qualified.
